Forrest concluded that the law does indeed have, as the journalists and peaceful activists who brought the lawsuit against the president and Leon Panetta have argued, a "chilling impact on first amendment rights". Her ruling enjoins that section of the NDAA from becoming law.

In her written opinion, the judge noted that she had been persuaded by what the lead plaintiffs – who include Pulitzer prize-winner Chris Hedges of the Nation Institute, editor Jennifer Bolen of RevolutionTruth, Noam Chomsky, Daniel Ellsberg, co-founder of Occupy London Kai Wargalla, Days of Rage editor Alexa O'Brien, and the Icelandic parliamentarian and WikiLeaks activist Birgitta Jónsdóttir – had argued. In their testimonies (in court and by affidavit), these plaintiffs compiled a persuasive case that they had "standing" to sue because it was reasonable for them to worry that they could conceivably could be detained indefinitely under the section 1021 law because their work requires them to have contact with sources the US government might assert were "terrorists" or "associated forces" of al-Qaida.

California deficit grows to $16 billion, Gov. Jerry Brown says

SACRAMENTO — California's projected budget deficit has ballooned to $16 billion, much larger than the $9.2 billion estimated in January, Gov. Jerry Brown said, and he warned of more painful spending cuts.

Jeremy Hunt stood accused last night of conspiring with News International to prevent a public inquiry into the phone-hacking scandal.

The revelations at the Leveson Inquiry implicate Downing Street for the first time in a potential cover-up and heap further pressure on the Culture Secretary as he prepares to give evidence to the Inquiry later this month.

A damning email released to the Inquiry yesterday suggests Mr Hunt asked the company to "privately advise" and "guide his and No 10's thinking" on the unfolding scandal. The existence of the previously secret email emerged during more than five hours of questioning of News International's former chief executive Rebekah Brooks at the Leveson Inquiry.

Those who have studied history know that nothing invigorates and empowers an authoritarian regime more than a spectacular act of violence, some sudden and senseless loss of life that allows the autocrat to stand on the smoking rubble and identify himself as the hero.

The same email shows that News Corp was given an “extremely helpful” tip-off by Mr Hunt’s office that he would refer to phone-hacking in a statement to Parliament.

It was released to the Leveson Inquiry by Rebekah Brooks, the former chief executive of News International, as part of her witness statement to the Inquiry.

As well as dragging Mr Hunt further into the row which has already claimed the scalp of his special adviser Adam Smith , the email makes uncomfortable reading for David Cameron, as it suggests his response to the phone-hacking scandal was being guided by the owner of the News of the World.

Jeremy Hunt apparently conspired with the Murdoch empire to try to prevent a full inquiry of phone hacking, a bombshell email claimed today.

The email presented to the Leveson inquiry into media standards alleged the Culture Secretary, whose career is hanging in the balance after previous email revelations, asked News Corporation to ‘guide his and Number Ten’s thinking’ on the unfolding scandal.

The message, from News Corp lobbyist Fred Michel to then News International boss Rebekah Brooks, claimed Mr Hunt had asked the company to ‘advise him privately’.

Anyone who has watched even a single 2012 Republican Primary debate should be aware by now that there is has been an unshakeable commitment by virtually every candidate to the colonial “state” of Israel. CNN warns an entire outfit of Al-Qaeda terrorist are planning to conduct attacks on US soil using sophisticate high-tech bombs undetectable by security systems.

Their report quotes a Stratfor VP, a company the corporate media recently told us wasn't a realible source of information.

So what to take from this: 1) Apparently Strafor IS a reliable source of information - otherise the entire CNN report must be false propaganda and they would never do such a thing 2) A terrorist attack will soon occur against the US in a the near future which will be used to justify more constitution trampling laws that permanently revoke our civil rights. It's either that or the TSA will not be happy until everyone is subjected to a naked full cavity search and this is their way of justifying it.

Rubbing it our face: A Politico article admits Ron Paul won most of Nevada’s delegates then links to their delegate tracker showing Romney won 20 delegates and Paul only won 8.

This is not some lunatic conspiracy theory - you can view what the media outlets are still reporting and verify the real delegate counts from local news sources in each state. And this video highlighting CNN's lies is only one example of many media outlets that are doing the same thing.

The GOP is blatantly violating the rules, and in some cases the law, and when they get caught they just make statements as blatant as "Voters need to respect the authority of party leaders "when it should be the other way around

It is to be expected to find multiple news sources from around the world covering unfolding events. However, what is unexpected is to find a similarly large number of sources under news items that are clearly "opinion" or "editorials." Just how is it that "journalists" across the Western world simultaneously come to the same conclusions at the same time on the same topics? ...
